This fly is tied on a size 10 hook and is a general nymph pattern. The body of the fly is spiky hare’s ear dubbing with a pearly shellback that is well ribbed with gold wire. The head of the pattern is a Firefly’s Lumi Bead which gives the fly a very distinctive look. On lakes this fly can be fished on a floating, intermediate or sinking line imitating the various stages of an insect hatching. On rivers fish with a floating line in a dead drift style casting upstream 2 or 3 rod lengths and retrieving back to your position. This pattern will succeed all season.
