This pattern is tied on a size 22 hook and represents anything small and dark colored, from a gnat to a small beetle. The body is tied using peacock herl, with a light coloured cock hackle palmered down the body. The iridescence of the peacock herl makes it very attractive to either lake Rainbows or browns and to wild river browns. Either cast it drag free to rising fish that are feeding on small gnats or cast it under trees where trout will take it as a small beetle. This Fly can be used from the start of the season up to the closing day.
