This pattern is tied on a size 24 hook and represents the aphid or greenfly. The body is formed by green pearl tinsel, the wings by wider pearly tinsel cut to shape and the fly completed by a white cock hackle wound on the thorax area. Aphids can be found feeding on bank side vegetation and be blown on to the water where they will be eagerly excepted by trout. If the naturals are observed on the water with trout taking an interest cast this pattern into the general area of activity, do not try to follow every rise as this pattern is too small to make that tactic successful. Use on both lakes and rivers from April to September.
