A size 10 medium sized brown Sedge. This fly has a red game hackle thorax, a palmered olive body, and a bleached deer hair wing. As an extra trigger point it also has a florescent green butt, which could be representing the female egg sac. The hair wing will keep this pattern floating well, even in rough water and the color of the wing will enable the angler to see his fly both in choppy water and at a distance. This pattern is best-fished drag free to rising fish or cast upstream into likely looking runs and fished dead drift style down the run. May to September is the months this pattern will be most productive.
