A size 16 fly that imitates a nymph at the water surface that is about to hatch. The body is pale yellow dubbing, the tail is light ginger cock hackle and the thorax area is an ethafoam ball covered with thread and dubbing. The fly will float in the surface film with its abdomen hanging enticingly below. Fish this fly almost dead static or if on a river just retrieve to keep pace with the current. Fished correctly this is a fly fish like because in its hatching state it’s a meal that won’t depart. It can represent most of the olives, small sedges and even hatching buzzers. This fly can be used on running and still water, and because of its versatility, is productive for most of the season.
