This pattern is tied on a size 12 hook and is a general representation of an emerging insect. The body is dark olive deer hair which has been spun and then clipped to form the “bomb” shape. A ginger hackle has been palmered down the body and the fly has been finished with two tufts of olive CDC feathers tied in Shipman style. Cast this fly to areas of surface activity and whether the fish are taking buzzers, hatching sedges or even emerging upwings this pattern will be accepted. This pattern will mainly be successful on lakes from the start to the end of the season.
